                        You will be surprised to know that we are unknowingly consuming slow poisons in our daily food. These items do not provide any nutrients but by consuming these food items we definitely disturb our health. White sugar, white salt, white rice, white flour and white potato are the 5 white poisons, which are harmful to our health. 


Because it does not contain enough protein, vitamins and minerals to keep our body healthy. Lack of adequate nutrition puts them at increased risk of developing hypertension and other diseases such as diabetes. A study found that eating white rice increased the risk of diabetes by 17 %.

Here is why you should stop eating these slow poisons:


Refined Sugar:

         

Sugar can be found in many things from fruit to candy but not all sugar are unhealthy, fruits contain natural sugar may offer nutrients which keep your body energetic and can sustain your metabolism.


White sugar is full of chemicals. It has no nutritional value. The chemical is derived from sugarcane. Then, the juice is extracted from this substance to obtain fiber free sugar and then during the refining process this juice is mixed with lime and this process kills all the vitamins and nutrients in the juice. Calcium sulphate and sulfuric acid are used for bleaching sugar. This sugar is made to appear whiter than natural.


Saccharin consumption is now days increasing at a very high rate that can increase the risk of obesity, diabetes and can have negative impact on liver and eye retina saccharin is are many product for sweetener like candy’s, juices, sweets etc.. 

     

Recommendation: The ICMR institute, Hyderabad recommends a sugar intake of not more than 20 to 25 gm per day.


Refined Salt:

              

Salt usually contains iodine. Iodine is essential for our healthy body. But the iodine is removed during the salt refining process. Fluorides are added to salt during the refining process. Fluorides have caused many problems when consumed in excess. Consumption of pure salt also increases blood pressure, heart attack, weight gain etc.


Although salt is the main ingredient because it adds flavor to food without salt there is no taste so if taken more than the recommended limit it is toxic to the body. And it is not good for our health it can cause hypertension, heart and Causes diseases like kidney disorders.


Recommendation: WHO recommend salt intake should be less than 5 g i.e. per day.


White Flour (Maida):

           

We know that Maida is not good for our health. It has no nutritional value and is easily digested due to the lack of fiber in it. Today all of us are consuming daily junk food, processed food, bread, burgers, pizza which are bad for our health. 


Because during the process of wheat refining, the germ is removed from the wheat bran, and therefore the remaining endosperm is not good for our health and it rushes glucose into the body and release high levels of insulin. 


Liver and muscles use only as much glucose as they need and convert the rest into fat, so this is also a major cause of fat gain these days as well. It invites diseases like obesity, constipation and type 2 diabetes


Recommendation: Research said refined flour should be replaced by whole grain flour.


White Rice:




               White rice is the staple food of us Indians; the problem with the rice we use is that it robs the pure rice of all its natural germs. What we eat is rice endosperm which is rich in starch and has many harmful effects on our health. So it is important for us to cut down on rice, especially as we age. White rice can lead to many diseases



White Potatoes :

         

 Potatoes are a rich source of fiber and contain healthy minerals, nutrients and high-quality proteins. But despite these benefits, they are classified as harmful to our health if consumed in excess.


Of course you won't be able to eliminate these 5 'white toxins' from your diet at first and it will be difficult at first. But believe it or not once you actually go for it, you will never look back or regret your decision. You can try other delicacies instead.
