                      Unilever has recently recalled many dry shampoos from the market before October 2021 due to increased levels of chemical called benzene which creates leukemia. Benzene is a Transparent or yellowish liquid that smells sugary and is flammable as per CDC. Benzene is commonly found in crude oil, plastics, resins, nylon and synthetic fibers, lubricants, rubbers, dyes, detergents, drugs etc.

Benzene is present in cigarettes, cleansers, pastes and paints and Elevated level of benzene can prompt reaction of vomiting, dizziness, sleepiness. It is Dangerous for eyes, skin or lungs if they came across direct exposure of benzene and can harm the tissue and lead to bothering. Unilever has clarified that the propellant contain in spray cans of the dry shampoo was the reason of the benzene and they are working with suppliers to fix this issue.
